Microsoft chose not to include the Media Center product in Windows 8. Media Center Pack can be purchased as a feature for Windows 8 .If you buy a Media Center Pack, Windows 8 Pro can record TV shows through a TV tuner with Windows Media Center, as well as play DVDs.

To buy the Windows 8 Media Center Pack in Windows 8 Pro, follow the below steps :
1. While you are in the Start Screen, type add feature , click on Settings and then click on Add feature to Windows 8
 
2. To buy the Media Center Pack, click on I want to buy a product key online
3. From the listed Features window, click choose under Windows 8 Media Center Pack
 4. Finish filling out required billing information, and click on Next
5. On the Payment info window, select your preferred/available payment method, fill your payment details and then click Next
6. Confirm your order by reviewing the entered information, and then select I agree to the terms and conditions. If you have any promo code, then type it and click on Apply to get a discount. Once finished reviewing and ready, click on Buy
Your order will be processed and your will receive an email with your purchase bill and the product key.
Windows Media Center will now start to be added to Windows 8, and your PC will automatically restart during the process.
7. After your computer restarts and you login into your account, your will notice that Windows Media Center is added into the Start screen
If you went to the Desktop, you will have a window opened stating that all done. click Close

If you already have a product key, then follow these steps to add Windows 8 Media Center Pack :
In the previous section, I have shown you how to buy Media Center Pack, right ? In that process, the product key is e-mailed to you. If you ever formatted or changed your PC and now you need to add Media Center, you don’t have to purchase it again, you simply can add it by typing the product key.
1. While you are in the Start Screen, type add feature , click on Settings and then click on Add feature to Windows 8
 2. Click on I already have a product key
3. Enter the product key
If you enter a correct key, you will notice a message stating that your key works. click Next to continue
4. Finally, you will have to accept the license terms and click on Add features
5. The feature will be added, and your machine will be automatically restarted.
After your computer restarts and you login into your account, your will notice that Windows Media Center is added into the Start screen

2. Once you’ve received the e-mail with the key, copy the product key and then hit Windows + w keys, type add feature , click on Add feature to Windows 8
3. Click I already have a product key
4. Type or paste in your product key, click Next
 5. Accept the license terms and then click Add features
The feature will be added and your computer will be restart automatically. Once your login into your machine , you will find Windows Media Center pinned to the start screen.
